Keep this practical, safe, and grounded in recovery. Sponsors are not therapists, emergency responders, or personal assistants.

Response window

Set honest expectations. “I answer as soon as I can. If this is urgent, call another sober person, attend a meeting, or call emergency/crisis support.”

Privacy

Do not publish sponsor phone numbers. Keep matching behind an admin process when this becomes a live platform.

Escalation

If someone sounds unsafe, encourage immediate professional/crisis help. Recovery support is powerful, but it is not a substitute for emergency care.
